My Climb
I start at the bottom
With a simple goal in mind.
I want to reach the top,
And leave the rest behind.
I start climbing up
One move at a time.
I have to be careful,
As to finish my climb.
Somewhere in the middle
I begin to lose my way.
Fighting the panic,
I stop and pray.
I receive comfort
From somewhere above.
I know my Lord’s with me;
I feel his great love.
I see the top.
I’m almost there.
I keep on going,
Then stop and stare.
I started at the bottom
With a simple goal in mind.
I’ve reached the top,
Newly refined.
