I Rise

Behind a dark-stone wall is where I hid
Until the walks were clear, here I slid
Clouds rolled on in, and rolled on in
Unease filled my mind up to the brim

Behind a slate façade is where I fell
Through the depths of my past, into hell
I saw no end in this mess that came
My tries would only gave more the same

But soon I halted and looked way up
To the clouds deforming, breaking apart
I then stood tall and fished into my mind
To my soul and being, now on the incline

Behind a dark-stone wall is where I rose
Above my past and my sorrows
I’ve escaped the depths of my shadows
And today is the day I live.
