Childhood Christmas
I awake early in the morning
Rise out of my bed
I walk downstairs still wrapped in my blanket
glowing with excitement I ran back up to my parents room
I burst open the door and shout until they wake
I speed down my staircase
My eyes light up with joy when I see my gifts
The smell of this day lingers in the air
Everything is perfect
There are cookies and other sweets
My stocking is stuffed
so many presents and so much love
On this Christmas
I will remember
Joy, excitement, and the smiles of my loved ones
