San Francisco
san francisco poem
It's gargantuan bars welcome you as you come in,
For some it's an escape,
But others it's a gateway to a new life,
This is the golden gate bridge.
People wait for hours just to get in,
The cable cars leave with as many as they can fit,
They show you the cities past and sites and they ask for a small fee,
These are the city tours.
A boat takes you through the water and to the island of the dark past,
Screams of the tortured inmates fill your head,
The field of the untouched building still looks the same,
This is Alcatraz.
The stadium roars with excitement,
Fans wait anxiously to see the big game,
Eager players wait in the locker rooms,
This is Candlestick park.
Art hangs on every wall,
The beauty is overwhelming,
People can hardly hide their emotions,
This is the Fine Arts Museum.
This is San Francisco.
