Betrothed,
Days pass that feel like lifetimes.
Have I known your face?
Your embrace?
Your comforting smile?
Lackadaisical
Those kind loving words,
I ache to hear.
What promises can you make
That our eyes will connect again?
In another world,
Time still disclosed.
I ignore my hearts pain
With no regret
Holding on to memories
I will not soon forget.

The author's comments:
This poem is about waiting for my husband to come home. He is currently deployed over seas and this is a poem about the inner struggles I face everyday
