In the moon of the night
Howls the creatures.
They cry to each other
They laugh with each other.

In the sun of the day
Lays the sleeping pack.
They hunt in the woods
They play in the dens.

The creatures live in the cold of Alaska
The animals live in the safety of the trees.
The beasts live in the heat of Montana
The souls live in the love of the mountains.

The live in the wild
They live in their homes.
They love their chosen mates
They love their families.

Their family is the pack
Their friends are the mountain trails.
Their loved ones are the brooks.
Their siblings are the pups.

Their enemies are man.
Their rival is the mountain lion.
Their foes are themselves.
Their traitor is the Winter.

These furry creatures are the wolves.
The howl at the moon.
They hunt deer, they hunt elk
They are the creatures of the night.

There are gray wolves
There are red wolves.
There are arctic wolves
And there are Rocky mountain wolves.

Wolves are lovable
Wolves are strict.
Wolves can adapt.
Wolves can travel.

Wolves are in the tales.
Wolves are in the myths.
Wolves are in folklore
Wolves are in religion.

Wolves are creatures of the night
Wolves howl at the moon.
Wolves have alphas
And wolves are the kings of the forest.

I'm inspired by wolves too and I love how you captured their magnificent demeanor as well!
