She was old, wrinkly
Thought she had no life left in her
False teeth wouldn’t show their smile anymore

She had once loved someone
Who made her happy, but left and died
A silver necklace wrapped in strong feelings

She had hope in her heart
Fear in her mind and cancer in her breath
Tired of wearing knitted caps everyday

She was feeling blue
No life still living in her
She was dying

awww. :'( that's so sad! Very good portrayal (sp?) of cancer, even though I've never yet known anyone with that disease, this made me sad.

You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Speechless. You have no idea what this poem means to me. My Grandma.... has cancer. It is one of the hardest things I have lived through... thank you for writing this. It is amazing. Read my poem Once a Survivor, Forever a Fighter. <3
