Breathe
I’m slowly suffocating under this weight;
Yet no one seems to care.
The moment my heart stops beating,
You’ll be there.
Your stare can revive me,
And your smile tells me to breathe.
The first breath is painful,
Yet knowing that you’re there;
The pain begins to fade.
Once I can breathe freely,
You disappear completely.
The suffocating returns,
But then I realize you never cared.
