Left Untouched
Old and withered,
I stand lodged between my neighbors,
patiently waiting to be noticed
and put to good use.
My days are repeatedly uneventful
and my view is never changing.
Giant locked windows with the outside sunlight
fading in. Rows of sturdy, cedar wood support my peers
stacked up high to the ceiling panels.
I feel anxious and prepared to show the world
my unseen knowledge.
I live my life never to be noticed,
only to stand here collecting dust,
hoping that one day someone worthy enough
will come discover me, unveil my insides,
and let me stretch my pages.
