You were there before time began,
and placed in Eden on day 6.
We lived with You, which was Your plan,
but we sinned, and thought there could be no fix.

We left wounded and regretful,
away from You, so we thought.
But Your love is eternal,
for us, You fought.

You left Your glory,
to become a man,
love's ultimate story,
according to Your plan.

You said, "Come to Me",
with a love that perishes never.
You hung upon the tree,
promising us life forever.

You died for us upon the cross,
but death couldn't win, and now You live,
seeking and saving those who are lost,
telling us to share the gift You freely give.

You say "I am coming!"
to return and be King of Kings.
All Your enemies will be running,
but we'll be the ultimate choir that sings.

You were there before time began,
and we'll be with You in the end.
We'll live with You once again, which is Your plan,
knowing that Jesus is not only the fix, but our friend.
