Favorite Quote:
"Absolve you to yourself, and you shall have the suffrage of the world."- Ralph Waldo Emerson

You will notice that the pace
at which I approach you is slow.
In previous years, the face you've painted
to mirror my unrequited glare was eroded-
a smile
a gleam
shimmering in the streets of the illuminated downtown
never stopping, closer....closer
further,
gone.
You wore a black dress
and I wallowed in Holy Shoes that
have consecrated the earth with a drudgery of man that the eyes can't contain.
I finally bought a new pair.
