Oh, make me die, rather than part from you,
A painful death, no hopes of heaven,
Take away my life that has no meaning,
Make me be alone forever in that deep abyss,
Or take a knife and thrust the tip into my already bleeding heart,
Never again let me see that beautiful face that smiles and me and makes me feel safe,
To forever live in darkness, colors something long forgotten,
Live a life of doubt about where you are and if you are alive,
Where all I know is the fear of your death, bleeding alone on the side of the road,
Let me take your place,
Instead of you dying in that lonely war.

I wrote this based off of my sister's feelings for her fiancee who is in the army.
