Smiles turn to hugs
Hugs turn into kisses
Days turn into weeks
Weeks turn into months
Eyes that see into your soul
Now stare right through you
Soulful talks turn into mindless chatter
The closeness turns to distance
Clouds now block my light
My meanings are no longer clear
My thoughts are in a jumble
The words in my head no longer slip out right
The words never flow onto the paper as smoothly
The music no longer reaches my soul
My heart no longer beats the steady rhythm of love
For I can feel you slipping away
And I...I turn to stone.
