"Strength is nothing more than how well you hide the pain!"

What do you do when you’re all alone?
Your friends said they’d always be there but where are they now?
Fear is knocking on the walls of your heart,
Fear of rejection, the unknown, the silence?
It doesn’t matter; nothing seems to matter anymore,
You cry yourself to sleep, not stopping the tears that you’ve held back for far too long,
What happened to all the people who you were counting on?
The ones who told you they’d never leave you,
The pain is so strong you feel as though you can’t breathe,
It feels like your heart is literally being ripped apart,
You try to think back to a time when you were happy,
Back when you weren’t being controlled by this demon,
What’s it called again… An eating disorder?
The words feel like poison on your tongue,
It’s just not worth it anymore; you’re tired of fighting this battle,
Maybe you should just end it, right here, right now,
Then you hear it, that still small voice,
It’s softly calling out to you, surrender… surrender,
And it’s at that very moment that you realize you were never alone,
God’s been right there with you, the whole time,
He had His hand stretched out to you,
And all you had to do was take it.

The author's comments:
this is something I wrote the other night. I was all alone in my room. I was laying in bed and literally shaking because I had just come to the end. I was finally facing one of my biggest fears and it scared me. I took a serious look at my life and I didn't like what I saw at all. I saw a girl who was broken, alone, and scared. I didn't want keep living the way I was and I knew I couldn't or else the end result wouldn't be good. And it was then, when I had finally come to the end and admitted that I couldn't do this on my own that I was finally able to fully surrender my struggle to God. And I realized that I had never really been alone; this whole time, God had been there with me, waiting for me to come back to Him. So, here it is. Hope you all like it. God bless!

Amazing!  I especially love the story behind it and how you gave it all to the lord and realized you never really were alone.   <3  5/5

Wow, this was really well written, powerful, and deep.  Good job starbucks!

Reminds me somewhat of Emma from the bully rp we're in.

Thanks Mike! :) Ya, I like writing poetry for the sake of getting my feelings out and stuff, not for trying to be fancy and impress people. I'm really glad you liked it!!!!!!!!!

Whoa this is incredible, super deep.  I like how it is really pure, it's not all about rhymes or any of that fancy stuff.  Really good work!

I love god :)

This is a lovely poem, though some of the question marks were a bit confusing.

Your description and emotion are intense, even with very little imagery, that takes talent, star :)

Great job, thank you so much for sharing this with me :D

thanks so much Hannah!!!! :) I know you are and always will be! Please don't get me wrong, I don't have an eating disorder but I have struggled with something like it in the past. I was just really frustrated one night and just sat down and wrote this poem. It was more of a venting poem. lol
