You sit silently
but I know
that inside
you are everything
but still.
You shake
and quiver
and bend
as you wait
for him to break you.
The pain
of the burden
that rests on your
tired shoulders
is spilling out of you
beyond any control
and onto this piece
of paper
that is as
torn and fragile and weak
as you are.
