I so often feel alone
As if I'm in a world
That doesn't understand.
Look left and right
And few are there
Who think and write and love
And care.
But look more closely,
Look again,
And you just might,
Might, find a friend.
In a world that seems so wrong,
There are some who get along.
I have learned just recently
That there are quite a lot like me.
I am surrounded,
And didn't even know,
By thinkers,
Dreamers,
Artists,
Lovers,
By people whose first priority
Is others.
The world is not so bad sometimes,
You just need to know
Where to seek and find,
Because there ARE others of your mind.
You are surrounded,
Not alone,
Although it may not easily be known.
