"Writing eases my suffering. It's my soul's medicine. I write when I hurt. I write what I fear. Writing is my form of personal freedom. I write to save myself. I write to survive as an individual."
~Amor Magner

I feel like the world
Is split in two;
Light and darkness.
During the day,
I wear a mask
Of false light
To cover the
Darkness in my soul.
During the night
I thrive in the darkness;
My soul is free
From the troubles
Of the world,
Severed from my body.
I sleep,
But I do not dream,
For my soul soars
Above the world,
The sky,
The realm of dreams.
I fly free,
Like a raven
Bursting into the night,
Throwing off my worldly
Chains.
I shine like a dark star;
But none can see the
Way I shine,
As I fly across the heavens,
Bursting with black and purple,
Barely outlined against
The darkness of night.

Some people can't recognize the fact that I can do beautiful things; with words, with music. They think that beauty only counts on the outside. This is a poem to show them that I have got past this illusion, and have accepted myself for who I am.

If you love something, then let it go,
If it comes back, it's yours forever,
If it leaves you, then it was never meant to be.

i agree with you completely. people don't seem to look where it truly counts. the way you wrote about the flying and the freedom was very beautiful. though maybe you could've used "violet" rather than purple? it seems to flow more; thats just me, though. good job!

Nobody is perfect. I am nobody. Therefore, I am perfect.

The language is beatuful.

And I can relate to people only thinking that beauty is only on the outside.

Only my friends know my talents

While everyone else judges me on my looks.

Which isn't much because I'm really shy and hardly talk.
