Unmarked Oceans
In my mind are ships that sail to unmarked oceans
Lips that glide to unallowed speeches
Bridges that connect to the least likely of connections
With souls that are so different
But so alike
Our bodies are built in territories
Already claimed by others
When we feel we’ve finally found love
Along comes another
We can’t build forks in a road to a heart
The damage that it causes
Makes all the roads fall apart
So we breathe just to live
And we sing just to die
Sometimes the bravest stop and look at themselves to ask
Why?
We tear each other apart
In this horrible game of war
We start as innocent children
Then grow strong
But yet weak at the core
Nothing can stop us
We can’t resist ourselves
We’re a falling nation of children
We don’t have to look just to see
When we look in the mirror we say
The problem…
It’s me
