I'm confused. Terrified and confused. I don't understand why I'm so scared to be treated like a person.

Maybe its because you have always told me that I'm worthless,
told me that I'm stupid,
told me that I'm unwanted.

I always try to prove you wrong, prove I'm worth it,
prove I'm smarter,
prove I'm wanted.
I never could . . . prove it to you.
It's scary because its new.
I'm not used to being worth it, being smart,
being wanted.
In your eyes, I'm nothing.

Now I am scared to be loved,
to be wanted,
to be worth it.
Why?
I wasn't worth it to you.
