Persistence

Bitter Blood
Mud on your tongue
Have you thought about love?
How to sing your song?
It’s not so long this living
And giving ain’t what it ought
So don’t get caught slipping
Or stumbling, no more crumbling
If being whole is what you’ve sought.

Bitter blood
Mud on your tongue
Have you realized your wrongs?
And wrenched your wretched eyes
Away so strong was the
Flickering flame of pain
You’re lost again
It’s costly this shame.

Bitter blood
Mud on your tongue
You’ve got to finish all you’ve ever begun
Or remain unsung
Unstrung
There is no way to run
From number one it’s been spun
To make you strong
And while it hurts
It’s where you belong.

This is a poem about following the road in life that you were meant to follow, no matter how hard it might be. It is a poem about not losing your faith in yourself.

A very mature poem for one so young, and musical and thought-provoking. Good lyrics for a song.
