I am not a poet

I am not one who writes

a group of words on paper for

other people’s amusement,

I will not scribe things funny, so that

you laugh with inexcusable volume

but minimal self control.

I will not make you blue with pity,

or purple with calmness.

I refuse to draw you in

with my indescribable emotion,

but I will write the truth hoping that your

eyes will glisten with tears and a chuckle

will escape your constantly chattering lips.

I will paint you yellow with sun and

green with the grass

I will make you escape your dumb

state in order for you to hear my voice

But I am not a Poet
