The Family Room

The family room is where I would always go
I would go there when I wasn’t exactly happy
I would go there when I was mad
I would go there when I was upset

The family room would help me calm my emotions
The family room is a place to go when you just don’t know what you’re feeling

The family room is calm, open, bright, and a good place to go
The family room is cool
The family room is where you go when you don’t know what to do

You can hang out in the family room, sit, sleep, or talk
You can just chill in the family room
You can watch TV in the family room
Or you can take a nap in the family room

The family room is a place where I can go, and just be alone, just think, just sit there
Lie there, and let ideas run through my mind
Just on my own
Sometimes my dog would come in there with me
Just to make things better
He was the only one to understand how I was feeling
He would give me that look he always gives me
And it would make me smile
Because I was in the family room
Just for a little while
