Action Over Words
I’m sorry.
That’s what you always say.
I’m sorry.
You think that will make me stay.
I guess I’ve lead you to make that assumption
But your mistakes are hard to forget, when you can’t even function
You try to hide the intoxicating fumes
Brush your teeth, chew gum, spray your perfumes
Nothing can hide the look in your eyes
Just like nothing will ever drown out my cries
You lie straight to my face, expecting me to believe
But I am one person, you will never be able to deceive
I’ve watched you slowly kill yourself for years and years
You not waking up, is one of my biggest fears
You think you’re invincible, you’ll always bounce back
But, if I weren’t around to save you, your world would become black
After watching you hurt yourself day after day,
It is awfully foolish for you to say
“I’m sorry”
It has become just a word, I chose not to believe
