The Girl In The Mirror
Says the girl in the mirror:

 Another zit on your chin.

Another imperfection on your awkward face
 that’s always out of place.

Says the girl with smooth, clear complexion:

How can I possibly go to school—where

all my classmates will see me and

 Laugh?

Says the girl in the mirror:

 Look at your huge thighs.

Look at the way your stomach sags
just like the beer gut of your own dad.

Says the girl with long, slender legs:

I look like I’m pregnant— have

 these jeans always felt so

 Tight?

Says the girl in the mirror:

 Hide away your insecurities.

Hide behind your thick, gaudy make-up caked over your skin
and hate the person you really are within.

Says the girl as she leaves the house:

Yes, Nick’s coming to pick me up—didn’t I

tell you we’re going out? He says I’m

 Perfect.
