Alone
Single parent of two,
She sets the table for one,
While kids are at their dads
Every other weekend,
I shall be eating alone,
Been divorced for sixteen years,
Still not found someone new,
Just my kids and I,
Sometimes she will go out with her friend,
But not every weekend the kids are gone,
Or go to see her parents,
She turns on the radio,
To make the quiet go away,
Moon shining bright,
She realizes it’s only 6:00pm,
She puts her bowl of cereal,
On the table,
This is her supper,
It’s easy, no mess to clean up,
Easy for single mom of two, eating alone, while kids are at their dads.
