Intro to 'Letters I'll Never Send'

It's when you decide
that no one would actually care;
That your parents
wouldn't even greet the knowledge with despair.
When it seems more important
to scar everyone else's lives
by dedicating the note to them;
even though all it may be
is you taking your own.

The author's comments:
After writing a bunch of poems about good things that happened in my day, every day, for a school project, I began to have trouble finding good things about my day. But after writing this poem, I decided to write many letters consisting of all of the things that had brought me to the point to write a poem as dark as this, and to the people who brought me there.
This poem is my inspiration to continue writing until this project is complete.
