There is nothing like returning to a place that remains unchanged to find find ways in which you've altered

"Write it down today, put it away, make sense of it tomorrow."
— Courtney Summers (Some Girls Are)

The unadulterated delight
Of a baby’s gurgle
Remember that feeling
You’ll need it later

The beauty of the dawn
Which you saw against all odds
Remember that feeling
You’ll need it later

The connection you felt
Looking your friends, and just getting it
Remember that feeling
You’ll need it later

The shattering of your heart
Because he couldn’t care enough
Remember that feeling
You’ll need it later

The idealism you had
You could save the world, if only they let you
Remember that feeling
You’ll need it later

The want for another world
Without s*** and real adult problems
Remember that feeling
You’ll need it later

The possibilities you imagined
Looking at the unencumbered vastness
Remember that feeling
You’ll need it later

How naïve you were
When you thought you could be anything you want
Remember that feeling
You’ll need it later

The pain you felt
Because of words which were best left unspoken
Remember that feeling
You’ll need it later

The amazing tenderness
Of that first kiss
Remember that feeling
You’ll need it later

Lights and firecrackers
An inspiration like none
Remember that feeling
You’ll need it later
Remember those feelings
You’ll need them later
When you stop and stare
At life whizzing by

Remember those feelings
You’ll need them later
This will be the only souvenir
Of the person you used to be

My seniors are about to pass out of school, and my final and last year is about to begin. Barely 8 months bare left in my school life, and I can't believe it because it all feels so unreal. It was only yesterday that I was 12 years and had started this school.
This poem expresses my nostalgia for a time which has not yet passed, but will soon.
