"Either write somehting worth reading, or do something worth writing."-Benjamin Franklin

I did not know how close I was,
‘till death stopped by for her.

I did not hear the clock ticking by,
‘till death stopped by for her.

I did not see the large tree,
nor did I think on that bright day,
that somehow something would go wrong,
and I would be left here wondering.

I did not feel the light breath,
‘till death stopped by for her.

I did not know how short,
nor how precious and dear,
life was on earth,
until that fateful day.

I did not see the coming night,
‘till death stopped by for her.

I now have seen the bright new dawn,
since death stopped by for her.

I now know what love is,
since death stopped by for her.

This piece is written in honor of a dear friend of mine who died in a skiing accident a few years ago. She was in my life for such a short time, but has left a lasting imprint on my life and I will forever remember her.
