"The truth does not change according to our ability to stomach it." - Flannery O'Connor

A revolution, he said,
It’s gonna be a revolution,
The people heed his elocution,
The time has come for restitution
Time for a whole new constitution.

A revolution, he said,
Don’t you know this is a revolution?
It really is the only solution
For class conflicts without resolution,
And we must not stop civilization’s evolution.

A revolution, he said,
Will always shed a little blood,
And how much is one little drop?
Compare it to the evil flood,
That by spilling it we stop.

A revolution, he said,
Can secure liberty by killing the opposition
Else they’ll drag us back to our old condition,
We must defend our revolution
They’re our final problem- this is the final solution

A revolution, I said,
I thought this was a revolution,
But now I know it was an illusion,
You just wanted to be the one in power,
You didn’t care who the change would devour,
You hijacked our lovely revolution
Did you ever believe a word of your elocution?
Cause we’re still here in destitution
And you stole that which was our restitution,

A revolution, I said,
We’re going to have a real revolution
And this time we’ll be fighting for
All the things that we believed before,
So start it with his execution,
“Be careful,” then to me he said,
“Don’t be so quick to take the throne-
These revolutions eat their own,
And keep a good grip on your head
Cause this won’t end until you’re dead,”
