I wish to remember the way he is now
Gentle eyes and that sweet smile
To draw the image that forms,
the very heart and essence of him.
To draw that gentle soul from within
To catch every star in his eyes
I whisper this in lovely sighs
For in his eyes is the realm of the skies
When the light is right...
I can draw each strand of his hair,
when set upon in wondrous sunlight,
His reddish hair glints a brilliant topaz.
That alone in my mind...
No body else has
And those kisses from the Angels'
Sprinkled along his face,
to catch this image my hand will pace.
As these kisses settle gently along his shoulders,
and his arms.
Such calm and tranquility
Can cause no harm
His shoulders so strong and bold,
thinking contented thoughts, space to hold.
No need to imagine what to draw
As my memory holds it all
His shoulders, so strong to me
Show me the man he was meant to be
And through my eyes, only can I see
His skin so light, like china, pure and innocent
Like the clouds on a clear day, soft
And never too much
As I remember his sweet, sweet touch
But I feel I will drive myself insane
Reality pulled down by a chain
There's so much I still wish to draw
But I'm afraid I might not be able,
to capture it all.
In his eyes, filled with such wonder
Joy and understanding is in there
And love, love on him is everywhere
For I wish to bring that here
In this portrait, on the page
A moment in time, stopping age
To catch the motion of his life,
his eyes a wondrous blue
The color of the brilliant sky
Is only an aspect, a memory..
From my eyes,
And Artist's eyes...
