No Longer That Girl

More by this author
I was once that girl

who was easily torn apart.
That girl who's tears

went unnoticed.
The girl who learned better

than anyone how to fake a smile.
That girl who's scars

were not only external but internal.
But, just like everything else;
Things change, and I did, too.
I'm now the girl that

stands up for herself no matter what.
I am the girl that

found a way out.
I am no longer

That Girl.

I can completely relate to this! I like the way you worded this poem; it sounds so... casual, but still poetic. Thanks for sharing this piece. :)
