Underground
Drip Drop Drip Drop
 The water clinks
 Darkness surrounds me underground
A puddle of rain water under my feet

I wait for the wind to come
 My reflection through the windows
 Disappearing and reappearing
 The loud chug to sound

I stare down at the tracks
 Contemplating, wondering, imagining
Is today the day? I question
My foot slowly starts to take a step

 HOOOOONKK! A noise echoes
 I look up, surprised
This is my chance I think
 Just four more steps

 I take one step
 Then another
 Then another
 Just one more step

 The lights getting brighter
 The sound, louder
I look around with headphones on
 Biting my lip reconsidering

 I’m really that close
 I rewind the day’s events
How tired I was in class
 The conversations with friends

 Maybe a little more time
I wait for the doors to open
I walk in and sit in an orange seat
 And listen to the music
