An ethereal memory
A dream never dreamt
Exhausted during the day
At night I never slept
Trapped within the walls
Hiding from the Thing
The Thing that always finds me
Cries unheard in the dark
Throat sore and aching
Heart beating pitter patter
Knees that never cease their shaking
The mirror haunts me
Every look taunts me
I can never hide from the Thing
The Thing is me
