Promises that anyone can fill or break
Promise of grandeur and beauty
Wealth and love

Promises were broken
And hearts shattered
True intentions revealed
And hopes crushed

Dreams were dashed
With love being cast to the side
Cares are unnoticed
And you’re left alone

Your thoughts turn dark
And race to cover up the light
The light fights for dominance
But the dark is overpowering

The dark is unrelenting
