leave me

leave me in the closet
let me alone find courage
to face the dark
no stray stars to light the way
in the place where shadows dwell
the light inside me slowly fades
as I turn to face the shadow of myself
leave me in the closet
alone I will find my strength
my inner light will burn and shine
once my mind is mine again
darkness lives in the closet
a place of fear and doubt
but leave me there to find myself
and my light will burn again
