My Elephant Dances The Tango
You move, a shadow across my floors,
Inside my windows and in through the doors,
Your presence surrounds me forevermore,
And though these thoughts they would deplore,
They cease nevermore.
You curl like smoke through my dying mind,
An opiate crawling as I unwind,
Your words surround me as they bind,
They seek to call this addiction killer; unkind,
This feeling I can’t rewind.
You push yourself under my cracked skin,
A race through my veins and arteries I never win,
Your existence something to which I become akin,
They say pull away; run from the wide-toothed grin,
I brush shoulders with sin.
