Traditional Love
The lights are out
The candles are lit
Under the covers,
We lay on top of each other
The silence is loud
It’s filled with emotion
Suddenly, it’s broken
As you whisper “I love you”
Those words do something to me
They make my heart skip a beat
They invite butterflies to my stomach
They radiate my body with warmth
As the talking begins
The silence ends
We turn the music on
Its softness adds to the romance
“The Last Unicorn” comes on
And you sing
You sing to me, as I fall asleep
In your arms, where I’m eternally safe
