You have to die
because I hate you
and I can’t stand to see you live.
You have to die
because you took a life
and it wasn’t for war.
You have to die
because you can’t live in
your own skin
any longer.
You have to die
because you were there
at the wrong time.
You have to die
because you drove drunk
on a highway.
You have to die
because I wanted pleasure,
but I didn’t want you.
You have to die
because a human life
can’t measure up
to the greed in our hearts.
Who are we to tell someone,
“You have to die.”?
