November

I wrote a letter last November
Telling you how I feel
But never put it in the mail
Because I wasn't sure those feeling were real

I wrote about of holding hands
Your fingers fit the spaces between mine
And how you used to hold me in your arms
It would somehow slow down time

And when my back was turned
I could feel you staring from behind
Then you'd grab my waist and pull me close
Almost like you could read my mind

December came and went
Just like our conversation
Waiting for you to text or call
I waited with anticipation

Our long lasting embraces
Were reduced to hi's and bye's
That night I cried myself to sleep
Repeating the word 'why'

New Years Day and not a word
Was when I began to feel
That the feelings I had last November
Had actually been real
