Singing into the sound
Through the mist it cannot be heard
Drowning in the waters
Of a long time ago and now.
Singing into the sound
The other voices blur and smudge my own
I cannot hear my own thoughts ringing
I cannot hear myself singing any more.
Singing into the sound
The bog, it swallows time and drive
I stand at edge; I am afraid to dive.
Yet I wonder if it’s quiet at the bottom
