Mistaken Road
the dry petals of forgotten flowers
and the musky dust from the dark street
mix with the wind and swirl,
under street lamps on an isolated road
the calm, serene night is bittersweet,
a girl walks onto the path
stands not far from the light
yet far enough not to be seen,
pulls out her key to death
and falls softly to the ground
then slowly, her soul rises
to join the whispers
of the petals and dust in the wind
