I didn't think that seeing you
Would still make my heart skip a beat
I expected ice instead of heat
Wasn't ready for the flutter it would ensue
Nor for the race of my pulse
I was prepared for something else
Not for the sharp intake of air
I honestly thought I wouldn't care
Whether you were looking or not
Instead I felt as if I'd been shot
Right through my heart
The one inside me that's falling apart
I wish I hadn't been so naive
Or maybe that you never did leave
I was unprepared for what I would see
It simply crept up on me
