Scars are just a sad reminder
Each one has a different story to tell
the death of a loved one
an ex-boyfriend
a past life
or just simply the past
when I think that I have forgotten
the scars return to haunt me
they burn me
they tear me apart
the scars are only seen by other
but felt by me
every time I try to move on
the scars of my past come racing back
they hurt me
they burn me
they are only seen by others
but felt by my breaking heart

The author's comments:
Scars can sometimes help a person move on from the past, but they also tear you apart inside. I wrote this peace because I needed to clear my head of my past mistakes and move on with my life.
