The Feeling

I sit in class and suddenly
the feeling will come back
that familiar itch in my throat
that desperation in my lungs
that feeling that nobody understands
that feeling comes back
i have to clench my jaw
so that sound doesn't escape
so i don't cry out in pain
even though i'm not hurt
that feeling comes back
that i need a pillow
to bury my face in
and let it out
it's just a second
a moment that i can't see straight
that feeling that i'm falling
or failing
that familiar feeling comes back
and it scares me.
