Alone Again

January 23, 2012

Years of waiting patiently
Years of bated breath
I waded through pools of scorn, mockery, and cliques
Assaulted by those who never accepted me
I clambered out with renewed hope
At last I found where I belong
For six weeks, I made my nest
Made my home, made my friends
Delicately constructed the life I always wanted
The storm struck fast and hard
The fall was fast and hard
The nest lay strewn on the forest floor
Alone again, I search to build another
In vain perhaps?
Only the future will tell
