Skipping Stones

as we traverse this verbiage plain,
i begin to think, and i wonder,
is it really worth all this pain?
i keep you at my side,
but i flinch and let go.
and you see.
you run,
and i run to catch you,
but you don't want to be caught
and i look like a fool.
1,2,3...
you'll be gone soon,
ill never catch you;still im close!
suddenly i trip. your gone.
pretty soon ill find another,
but its all skipping stones,
ill never get you back,
once you go.
