In the mind of a kid, the world is kind and bright,
All the problems of adults are out of sight.
What you see is what you get, and that is that,
They don’t care if you’re black white skinny or fat.

In the mind of a kid, life is very carefree,
Live your life and let others be.
You keep your hands to yourself, that’s what you’re told,
You’re fun and you’re kind, you’re crazy and bold.

In the mind of a kid, imagination rules all,
Your mom picks you up whenever you fall.
You’re taken care of, and left to have fun,
To pretend and to play, to skip and to run.

In the mind of a kid, life is always great,
It’ll run its course because fate is fate.
You don’t have a care in the world, and why would you?
No responsibilities or problems you have to go through.

In the mind of a kid, everyone’s happy,
All you pick up on is love, and everything’s sappy.
Nursery rhymes, stories, and fairytales are life,
The young handsome prince makes the pretty princess his wife.

The mind of a kid is so naïve,
What a simple world they do perceive.
It’s a wonderful world, a lovely place to be,
How I wish I were young so that could be me.
