A Farther Joyride

Alas, I have dared cross
self-constructed boundaries for a
blanketed hope
hope for splintered footsteps that
lacked their balance, a being
drifting into a glissando
waiting for where they will fall.
I forgot I would not walk on my own
but that time would be my carriage.
However, I intend to cross the world still
ripping through hindering fears
my mind importunately creates
To reach from a distance
those who accept their longing
but do not accept their fate.
