I sit down to watch T.V.,
She sits down to read her Braille letters.
I run around and play sports,
He sits in his wheelchair wondering if there will ever be a cure.
I listen to jokes and laugh out loud with my friends,
She looks at the hand signs and replies in the same way.
I goof around with my family,
He sits by his sibling's hospital bed just wondering why it had to be so soon.
I complain that I don't like what we're having for dinner,
She sits with an aching stomach searching for her next meal in the trash can.
I kneel in peaceful prayer at church,
He fears for his life if he is caught in worship.
I forget about all of these little things I have,
But in this moment that I remember,
I am thankful.
