I see all these faces pass by
Dark, light
Shadows following like dutiful pets
Chained to adolescent dreams
Yet when I look behind
My shadow disappears
I’m always alone
They swarm about in packs
I observe from a distance
They smile
They laugh
But I see right through
Their bodies so transparent
I see the blood running through their veins
The memories causing them pain
They sense it
They leave
Strange to see
How everyone has a secret
Dark inside them
Whether outside is like or light
I know them all
So they scream and run
But none hide
I find them all
I steal their pride
I survive another lonely night.

I am a bit of a social butterfly, and I always wonder about the people on the fringe of society.
